Who uses our corporate design module?
Professional company appearance with a uniform corporate design
Even if the term "corporate design" sounds like a concept for DAX companies, it encompasses a simple approach that should be relevant for every company: a logo with associated design elements that you can use to implement print and online media efficiently and consistently. The aim is to create a professional and trustworthy external appearance, from stationery to the website and signage at the POS. All media should reflect the identity of your company. This can only be guaranteed with an overriding design concept that goes beyond a logo – a corporate design.
This is how the development of your corporate design works
We have developed a pragmatic approach to derive a suitable corporate design from the identity of your company. Put simply: we work our way from the rough to the fine.
Briefing to develop the positioning
We will conduct a detailed briefing with you to work out the positioning of your company. For this we illuminate your company from a 360° perspective. Relevant topics are often the product range, history or milestones, corporate goals or target groups.
Elaboration of creative directions
The creative directions initially come from the graphic bird's eye view. Using roughly scribbled approaches, we approach the right creative direction based on the positioning. This often happens in several meetings in which the approaches are presented and discussed.
Development of concrete logo proposals
If the creative direction is set, we work out logos with specific colours and typography. They are perfectly tailored to the sharpened positioning and are not as diverse as the creative directions. It usually takes 2 to 3 rounds until the final logo is in place.
Deriving the design elements
In the final step, the design elements like icons are worked out. All defined elements, colours and fonts are summarised in a design manual. This is a kind of code book that allows each agency to independently create your print or online media - consistently and professionally.
From which elements do we develop your individual corporate design?
Logo
The logo is an essential part of your company's identity. It can be found on company clothing or on the sales floor and should convey the right message directly. For this we not only define the classic logo variant, which is on the top right of the white letterhead. You will receive a single colour variant from us, which is used for stamps, for example. In addition, an individual social media version and a negative representation are often required.
Fonts
An important element of logos are fonts, the so-called word marks. Some logos only consist of a word mark, while with others the “typography” takes a back seat. But no matter what role the font plays in the overall concept of the logo, it is always an important design element. As a rule, we use license-free Google Fonts to avoid complicated license models or limited uses. Of course, if you want, we can also use paid fonts if they are made available to us with a corresponding license.
Colours
The colouring is also elementary for logos, because even a black and white logo contains colours. Different colour spaces must be defined so that these colours are displayed in the same way in all media. For example, the green in your logo printed on paper looks the same as it does on the display of a smartphone. This is very important for the recognition value of your logo and supports conciseness. We define the common colour spaces for you, if one is missing, we will be happy to deliver it later.
Design elements
The definition of the design elements is on the home stretch of your corporate design. These are derived from the logo, the
colouring and the fonts. These icons or graphics should graphically underline your positioning with accents. The elements derived from the logo work for all media or use cases. This can be, for example, business papers, signage, flyers or POS signs. This means that you no longer have to think about a new design for each medium and the design elements provide a uniform direction.
Design Manual
All defined elements of the corporate design are summarised in the design manual. This document contains all the important information that enables any agency or service provider to implement print and online media for you. This ensures that the graphic translation of your positioning is applied consistently and correctly - even beyond the logo. Together with your design manual, you will receive all logos and graphics in a digital package at the end of your project.
